Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar

WHAT?: An antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused eye shadow palette with 16 matte and shimmer shades.

Swatches at the bottom!

FUNCTION: Inspired by Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection, this Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is a deeper, warmer version of the original coveted palette. Infused with the scent of sweet chocolate, this collection features 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused shadows in matte and shimmer shades with warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate, and vibrant sugared blueberry hues. These rich, high-pigment shades are perfect for any season, and it includes a signature how-to Glamour Guide to help you get started with three eye looks.

This set contains:
- 14 x 0.03 oz Eye shadows in Licorice, Nougat, Truffled, Hot Fudge, Cocoa Chili, Pink Sugar, Puddin', Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter, Frosting, Rum Raisin, Mousse, Caramel, Bon Bon
- 2 x 0.07 oz Eye shadows in Butter Pecan, Coconut Crème
- How-to Glamour Guide

MY THOUGHTS: This palette was said to be quite warmed toned by many on social media however I this palette has a nice blend of warmed toned, neutral and cool tones, as was the first Chocolate Bar Palette. The shades are quite blendable without much fallout and have good color pigmentation. They are lightweight in consistency and do not feel powdery in texture.

Licorice - soft black, this one is slightly powdery than the rest. MATTE

Coconut Crème - cool toned, vanilla, creamy in texture. MATTE

Nougat - cool toned, light dusty pink, leans taupe. MATTE

Truffled - warm toned, medium brown. MATTE

Hot Fudge - cool toned, deep dark brown with flecks of gold. SHIMMER

Cocoa Chili - warm toned, dark brown, looks matte in pan but finish is satin. SATIN

Pink Sugar - sheer pink with iridescent pink shimmer, the formula of this shadow is completely different to the others in the palette. It feels very soft and creamy in texture, almost like a cream. Tip: Best applied with fingers than a brushGLITTER

Puddin' - cool toned, dark brown leans taupe. MATTE

Blueberry Swirl - cool toned, sheer dark blue. This was the only color in this palette that was underwhelming, lacked in pigmentation and was a bit stubborn to blend. SATIN

Peanut Butter - warm toned, tan light brown. Tip: great shade to blend out shadows to add warmth or transitioning shade. MATTE

Frosting - warm toned, bronze. METALLIC

Rum Raisin - cool toned, taupe brown. METALLIC

Mousse - warm toned, medium brown. MATTE

Caramel - warm toned, coppery gold. METALLIC

Bon Bon - warm toned, pink peach. METALLIC

Butter Pecan - cool toned, light yellow cream. SATIN

Smashbox Rock a Legendary Lip!

WHAT?: A set of nine deluxe lip colors in reds, nudes, and pinks for getting any lip look for the season. These are miniature in size and it is a limited edition set for holiday 2014 but shades (except for promise) are all available in their permanent line.

This set contains:
- 3 x 0.13 oz Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Legendary, Cognac, Promise
- 3 x 0.04 oz Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary, Cognac, Pout
- 3 x 0.10 Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Firecracker, Off-Duty, Flamingo

FUNCTION: Let lips impart a pop of color—whether it’s a subtle sheen to seriously shiny. Mix and match the formulas and shades to create a custom lip color that’s all your own.

MY THOUGHTS : All these lip products are creamy, non-stick,  hydrating for the first few hours and are comfortable to wear. Applicators on the lip glosses and lip lacquers make for easy and precise application.

Be Legendary Lip Glosses:  (0.13oz vs. 0.20oz Full Size) Longevity: 2-4 hours
- Legendary is described as a true red. It has a slight blue based undertone, it's semi-opaque and the most pigmented out of the set.
- Cognac is described as a brown berry with shimmer and it gives a sheer wash of color.
- Promise is a sheer pink with a muted pink shimmer that applies almost clear on lips.

Be Legendary Lipsticks: (0.04oz vs. 0.1oz Full Size) Longevity: 4-6 hours
- Legendary is described as a true red. It also has a slightly blue based undertone, it's opaque on lips and the color is buildable for fuller coverage.
- Cognac is described as a warm raisin. Its warm brown with a slight mauve undertone. Same as with legendary it's opaque on lips and the color is buildable for fuller coverage.
-Pout is described as a bubblegum pink. Its a light neutral based pink, more on the cooler tone. This lipstick glided on patchy and showed imperfections on lips. The coverage was semi-opaque and was not very buildable with other layers.

Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquers: (0.10oz vs. 0.20oz Full Size) Longevity 4-6 hours... These are labeled as long-wear  but they are nothing like the formula of comparable products from Stila, Kat Von D or Lime Crime. They simply wear and feel like a liquid lipstick.
-Firecracker is described as a vibrant orange red but I don't find that to be true, the base is richer in more blue tones and this color is absolutely stunning and provides full coverage with single stroke.
-Off-Duty is described as nude pink brown. Great color, bit deeper than the average nude and will suit a number of skin tones. It was opaque on the lips with single swipe and wore well throughout the day.
-Flamingo is described as a bright pink. This shade was like the other two pink shades in this set, disappointing. It was difficult to build color to a fuller intensity and wore off the easiest while exaggerating lines and imperfections on the lips.

Too Faced Melted Kisses

LIP SWATCHES BELOW :)
WHAT?: This is a holiday set for 2014 and contains 4 Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks. They are miniature sized (5ml/0.16oz) each vs a full sized (11.8ml/0.4oz). Shades include; Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia and Melted Berry.

FUNCTION: These are described as the ultimate liquefied long wear lipstick set. Too Faced labels these as creamy lipsticks that comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense color that last for hours with an innovative angled velvet tip that allows for precise application.

MY THOUGHTS: These are creamy when first applied but quickly dry down to a matte finish, and you can get a precise application with the velvet tip applicator. I'm not a fan of the squeeze tube, I find it a bit difficult to squeeze out the desired amount and I always seem to push out too much or too little. These also last a long while on the lips (6-8 hours) with normal lip activity. The lighter colors (Nude & Peony) seem to disappear from lips but the shades (Fuchsia & Berry) left a lasting stain for hours more. One thing to note, I don't believe these are that comfortable to wear on lips, they are a bit too drying for my preference.

OVERALL: B
Pros: Great classic shades, precise application, last for hours, beautiful matte finish.
Cons: Squeeze tube application and texture becomes drying on lips.

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Espresso

This pencil eyeliner by Too Faced is an absolute dream to work with. It is creamy and can be smudged out but work fast because it sets in a few seconds. It's definitely waterproof, doesn't bleed and says perfectly through a 10+ hour day without much fading and no flaking. The color in perfect espresso is a dark and rich brown, love it for the days you want drama on the eyes but not a black liner.

REVIEW: BH Cosmetics 10 piece Sculpt and Blend Brush Set

These brushes are absolutely amazing quality and for the price of $22.95 it's incredible. They are dense and soft and they do not shed (deep cleaned and washed twice).
The smaller brushes work so well for blending cream and powder eyeshadows and are perfect size for the eyes. The larger brushes I would recommend using them for cream and liquid products. I have tried them using powder products but haven't quite got the desired coverage when using these brushes.
Overall I have absolutely nothing but pros about these brushes. The quality even out match some more higher end brands.

SWATCHES: Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Starting from left to right:
Tufted Suede, Chinchilla, Coffee Bean, Velveteen Bunny, Pebbles, London Fog, Fresh Linen, Vintage Violet, Midnight.

Too Faced Bonjour Beautiful

Picked this kit up while Too Faced had an incredible sale around the Labor Day holiday. I have no idea what took so long for me to try the matte eyeshadow palette but I've wanted it for such a long time. The colors are gorgeous and decently pigmented. Will have to play with it some more to have a more decisive opinion on it!
